Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a Development Analyst position at our Malaga Demonstration & Learning Center (MDLC) in Southern Spain.

When you join the Team Caterpillar as a Development Analyst , you are responsible for providing analytical sample processing and data review to support the S•O•S Services initiatives as part of the SOS Condition Monitoring Lab Team. You will use a variety of analytical techniques and wet chemistry to process oil, fuel, source water, and/or coolant samples submitted by customers. Engineers and dealers use results to manage equipment preventive maintenance.

What You Will do:

• Sample Data Review; Monitor of Samples in Process
• Instrument Troubleshooting
• Utilization of Instrument Manager
• Visual Inspection
• Preparation of Reagents and standards
• ICP, GC and Infrared Analysis
• Fuel Sulfur Analyzer Analysis; Titrator Analysis (TBN, TAN)
• Completion of Sample Billing Form and Received Dates
• Coolant Sample Prep and Registration
• IC/HPLC Analysis
• Daily Instrument Validation (Dilutor Weight Audits, FTIR daily checks and soot checks, Particle Count daily checks, and Viscometer Daily checks)

What You Have:

• Masters degree in chemistry, four-year degree in chemistry or related field (biology, bio-chemistry, chemical engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience, which must include a minimum of four years direct lab experience.
• Laboratory skills
• Strong communication skills; fluent Spanish and English in speaking and writing.
• Flexibility and Adaptability: Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
• Utilize quality indicators
• Understand the functions and applications of LIMS
• Root Cause Analysis

• A valid Spanish work permit is required. Visa/sponsorship is not available.
